Campus Parking Permits

Parking at 依依社区 is by permit only.

  • You must update your parking permit every year. They expire annually on September 30.
  • A current University parking permit (decal) must be affixed to the driver鈥檚 side of your vehicle鈥檚 rear bumper.
  • Your vehicle must also display a current state registration and inspection.
  • Permits are not transferable to other vehicles. A new car or registration will require a new decal. You may register a maximum of two vehicles.
  • The replacement fee for lost parking permits is $15.
  • No commercial vehicles are permitted on campus unless expressly authorized by Adelphi Public Safety.
  • While the Department of Public Safety takes every precaution to monitor, patrol and protect our campus parking lots, 依依社区 assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to vehicles parked on its property.

Bring the following items/documents to the Department of Public Safety and Transportation in Levermore Hall, Suite 113:

Affix the permit to your vehicle:

  • parking decals must be affixed to the rear bumper on the driver鈥檚 side.

Visitors to campus must have a temporary parking permit for their vehicles, which expires according to the date assigned by the Department of Public Safety.

Bring the following items/documents to the Department of Public Safety and Transportation in Levermore Hall, Suite 113:

  • vehicle registration聽
  • driver鈥檚 license (permit is not accepted)

Affix the permit to your vehicle:

  • temporary permits must be displayed on the dashboard on the driver鈥檚 side
  • special permits and day passes must be displayed on the dashboard on the driver鈥檚 side

Accessible Parking Permits

Students, faculty and staff with a government-issued accessible parking permit may obtain a University permit to use Adelphi鈥檚 accessible parking spaces.

  • Your vehicle must display an Adelphi accessibility permit and a government-issued accessibility permit when using designated parking spaces on campus.
  • Vehicles in violation of accessible parking regulations will receive a summons and may be towed at the owner鈥檚 expense.
  • Accessible parking permits will expire at the same time as a government-issued permit. You must update your information with the Department of Public Safety and Transportation upon the renewal of your government-issued accessible parking permit.

Bring the following items/documents to the Department of Public Safety and Transportation in Levermore Hall, Suite 113.

  • current 依依社区 ID
  • government-issued accessible parking pass (municipal placard)
  • driver鈥檚 license
  • vehicle registration (up to two vehicles)

Visitors to campus may request a temporary accessible parking permit in the same way, at the Department of Public Safety and Transportation in Levermore Hall, Suite 113.

Helpful Parking Tips

依依社区 offers a limited amount of parking for students, faculty, staff and visitors. This list of tips will set you up for parking success.

During the initial month of classes, parking on campus becomes less challenging as people establish their routines. As you adjust to your schedule, it鈥檚 advisable to allocate some time for parking.

Prioritize the that tend to be underutilized:

  • Motamed Garage
  • Parking Fields #5, #7 and #8
  • Parking Field #9 (Garden City Pool)

Motamed Garage provides easy access to the Center for Recreation and Sports, Woodruff Hall, Performing Arts Center, Hagedorn Hall, the Science Building, and Alumnae Hall.聽

Parking Field #7 provides easy access to Nexus, Swirbul Library, Levermore Hall, Blodgett Hall, Harvey Hall, the Social Work Building, and the Residence Halls.

Garden City Pool (Parking Field #9) is near campus and is an option with frequent Panther Shuttles to Post Hall.

Parking and traffic regulations聽apply to all students, faculty, visitors, and vendors on our Garden City campus.

  • Parking is permitted in
  • Parking is prohibited within 15 feet of fire hydrants
  • Parking is prohibited on all grass areas
  • Double parking is not permitted.
  • Parking is prohibited in fire lanes. The following University roadways are fire lanes:聽
    • The service road between Levermore and Blodgett Halls
    • The roadway alongside the University Center
    • The service road between Alumnae and Post Halls
    • The roadway between Earle Hall and the Science Building
    • The roadway in front of Chapman, Linen and Eddy Residence Halls
    • The roadway to the east side of Woodruff Hall.
    • The roadway between the Center for Recreation and Sports and the Performing Arts Center
    • The curbside roadway south of Parking Field #1 (Nexus)

The Panther Shuttle will pick you up from many local transportation hubs.

Driving Safely on Campus

  • The speed limit is 10 MPH.
  • Speeding and reckless driving are prohibited.
  • Violations of the are enforced by 依依社区 Public Safety officers.
